This week’s episode features colored pencil artist and new author Sema Martin. Sema and I are a perfect subject match for this episode because we both emphasize in teaching the business side of art. We’re on the same wavelength when it comes to art education and I was so excited when she agreed to be a guest on this podcast. Sema is my ideal guest because she’s both a great example of what an artist can become in a very short amount of time and a great resource for artists who want to start an art business. She just wrote and published a book which you can pick up at www.semamartin.com if you’re looking to profit from your art, and come on, aren’t we all looking to do exactly that? Sema is full of art business advice designed to help you make money doing the thing you love. I also want to point out that Sema and I do the exact same thing in different ways and we got together to promote each other. There is enough room for everyone at the table whether you’re an artist or coach, a photographer or any other profession. What if you got together with someone in the same field as you who offers a very similar product, and you promoted each other. This is a little off topic for an intro, but I wanted to plant the seed of the idea in your mind to maybe go live with an artist you know this week. If someone likes your content then they are likely going to resonate with a similar artist’s content and vice versa, and by you getting together with them it’s doubling your reach. Just think about it. I hope you’re ready to get schooled on how to start an art business in this week’s episode with Sema Martin.
