This week’s episode features Michigan-based muralist Kevin Burdick. I was so excited to chat with an artist who predominantly uses spray paint since I know very little about it but want to.

I was surprised to hear that Kevin uses acrylic spray alongside a roller with latex. He rolls THEN sprays using a mix of airbrush and cans. Why did I never think of combining these techniques before?! I ordered some Kobra and Montana Gold cans directly after closing out this interview.

I expected to get some spray tips from this conversation, which I did, but what I didn’t expect to come away with was a reminder that I paint because I love it and not just for profit. Kevin loves what he does and it really shows in his work. His spray murals have so much energy, movement, and bright colors. They almost POP off the wall!
